1)Light on half of face/shade on other side of face
2)sense of mystery/Darkness
3)1 light depending on pic
Split Light-
Key light is moved farther to the side of subject and lower than in other setups. Slightly behind the subject.
Good for musicians. Better for men then woman.
Broad-
One side is lit up big time and the short side or other side of the face is shadowed out.
can make face look wider or broader. Better for someone heavier or round faced.
Butterfly Light-
Focuses more on face and showing it and the shadow is under the subjects chin.
Use sheet of foams to soften up subjects face and reduce the shadow under the subjects chin.
Glamour style.
Loop Light-
Creates small shadow of subjects nose on their cheeks.
Variation of paramount lighting.
Must be slightly higher than eye level and about 30-25 degrees from the camera.
requires 2 lights.
